Once Upon A Love by Mzondi Lungu

What we have is something new,
Our love for each other has always been true.
We met in a very uncertain way,
but if it wasn't for that,
I wouldn't know you today.

You're my life, my world, my everything indeed
Our love just keeps growing like a sunflower seed.
What we had, I cannot explain,
but you never argued or never complained.

We laughed, we cried, we put so much in store.
We'll hold our memories in our hearts forever more.

Over the years, we fell apart,
but I'm hoping one day,
we'll have a new start.

So as time goes by and others come through,
I still remember our love
and everything about you.

Poem On Hiding Depression From Parents by Mzondi Lungu

My world is falling, crumbling apart, life is meaningless & that's just the start
My hearts so sore, I can feel it breaking & I swear to god it leaves me shaking
Late at night till early in the morning, lying in bed eyes wide open. Didn't sleep last night, like all the others, instead I just lie crying in the covers
Quick, wipe away all the tears before they come near. must hide this depression & the feelings of fear
For all they know I'm happy & always smiling, but deep inside my soul is dying

I can feel it rotting, it wants to scream, but I won't let it... not for the time being
I can never tell them how I feel cause the happiness I wear to them is real
For them to hear that I wish I was dead... it would kill them, they'd be filled with dread
So I'll try my best no to be selfish, I'll keep my secret hidden & just let them rest
but god I can't take it much longer... I'll probably be dead before they even wonder.

Happy 18th Birthday Sweetheart Poem by Mzondi

Life is going fast, right before your eyes,
make it last, make it alright.
Frowns, smiles, laughs, cries,
Baby, this is just the beginning of the ride.

I'm here with you, just as scared,
Feeling as if the belt is not so tight.
But trust me, sweetie, everything will be alright.

I may be 16, I may not see it all,
but I promise to try, I promise to care.
Most of all; I promise to be there.

Hold my hand whenever you like because 18 is pretty big,
I'll pull you back up if you ever should slip.
Know God loves you and is smiling on you this day.
Never think he isn't there, baby, never think he is astray.

He knows exactly where you are, where you'll stay.
So hear me out when I say Happy Birthday,
I truly do hope it has been one.
Be happy you were born though life hasn't been all that fair,
Be happy that you're still here.

Explore what you can without being caught,
Explore the amazing affects life has on us.
Explore with me, see all the wonderful things.

Never live life short, never don't see it in a full view.
Happy Birthday, James! A pinch for every inch you grew.
Again, I am here, right next to you as you read this,
So put the card down already so we can kiss.

Friendship is The Best Ship Of All by Mzondi Lungu

Friendship is priceless,
And can never be forgotten,
Friendship is timeless,
And never rotten,

It takes more than hugs and kisses
To be a real friend,
the nature of friendship,
Requires a blend.

The road to a happy life,
May sometimes make us stumble.
But to have a friend to give us a hand,
Teaches us to be humble.

Good friends are hard to find,
Hard to lose,
And impossible to forget,
But when they fly away,
Your anger turns to regret

Sometimes in life, we need a special person
To listen while we talk.
A special person who will not discourage or judge,
But encourage us as we walk.

Friends are there
To help you along,
The journey through friendship,
Is always long.

In life,
There are big ships,
And there are small ships,
But the best ship of all,
Is friendship.
